Twice an All-American, this excellent fielding first baseman and catcher competed in 12 national and 14 regional tournaments while competing for the nationally famous Phoenix PBSW Ramblers. She earned All-America ranking while helping the Ramblers to national championships in 1948 and 1949. She was also a feared batter, her timely hitting playing a key role in Ramblers’ successes. Following her playing days, she transferred her skills to the classroom and became a leading coach and administrator in high schools girls’ athletics. She remained active in softball as one of the nation’s finest women umpires.
