Jo’s playing career spanned the years from 1958 to 1978. She played first base for the Cooperstate League powerhouse Phoenix Westerners. She was selected to the ASA All-State Team in 1960 and 1961. She made numerous All-State and All-Region selections as an infielder and played against teams from Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, Sweden and New Zealand. She was voted to the Arizona Softball Foundation All-State Team in 1973 and 1978.
