Dodie Nelson Walker

Voted to the All-American team eleven consecutive years and named the No. 1 outfielder in the 22 year history of the Phoenix A-1 Queens. She ranks as one of the greatest individual women softball players of her time and foremost centerfielder in Arizona history. Leading hitter in the 1951 national tournament and Most Valuable Player in both the 1948 and 1951 nationals. She led the legendary A-1 Queens to five national titles and three second-place finishes. Voted Miss Softball of 1950, this fleet-footed outfielder gained numerous honors and set many records during her career, including leading the Queens in batting, stolen bases and runs scored each of
her 11 seasons with the team.
