Betty Giertz Hardwick Wainwright
Named to the All-America team three times at third base, she played a key role in helping the legendary A-1 Queens of Phoenix win five national championships. Blessed with one of the strongest throwing arms in women’s softball, she began major league competition at age 14 and upon completion of her illustrious career she was named to the A-1 Queens All-time Team. A left-handed power hitter, she also was on of the best drag-hitters in the sport and once enjoyed a 20 game hitting streak. An all -around athlete, she was a high-average bowler and twice won golf club championships.
