John’s softball career spanned twenty-six years from 1969 to 1995. He was considered one of Arizona’s most outstanding outfielders. He played in 24 National tournaments, 13 Arizona state champion teams and named to the All- State Team 3 times. He played outfield for the 1974 ISC World Champion, Page’s Raiders. In 1978, John was selected to the ASA All-American Team. In 6 of the national tournaments he played in, he batted over 300.
