Three-time All-American centerfielder, he earned all-state honors 11 times in a brilliant career which saw him play on 10 state championship teams. A power hitter of awesome proportions. Still unbroken is his record of five consecutive home-runs in Major League play - home runs his last two at-bats in one game and his first three times up in the next game. Three times he won the league batting average championship. He competed in six national tournaments, his teams finishing runner-up on three occasions.
