Jim Garrett

One of the leading hitters in Arizona softball history - his batting average was above .300 during a 13-year career with the Coolidge Boosters - this outstanding outfielder spent 22 years in major league softball and participated in 15 Arizona state tournaments (in Phoenix, Mesa, Coolidge and Tucson) and four Regional Tournaments (in Casper, Wyo.; Plainview, Texas; and two in Fullerton, Calif.). He was most valuable player in one tournament, an all-tournament selection three times and was leading hitter in one. Besides playing for the Coolidge Boosters, his major league service included seasons with Denton Tire Co., and Brooks Plumbers of Phoenix and the U. S. Marines.
