One of Arizona’s finest catchers, he was a vital force in the drive which carried the legendary Funk Jewels of Phoenix to national prominence as the most colorful team in softball. He competed in six national tournaments and won all-star honors on numerous occasions, both in league and tournament competition. As a member of Funk Jewels, Tom’s Tavern, Phoenix Auto Supply (which he managed), Travis Cafe, and Lettuce Kings, he competed in nine Arizona State and Regional tournaments.
