Stu played softball for twenty-four years. He was both a player and manager of the world famous Schaefer-Smith Men’s fast pitch team. He played in 20 national tournaments and on 11 Arizona state championship teams. He was a member of the 1970 ISC World Championship Schaefer-Smith Team. Stu was voted to the 1977 ISC All-World Softball Team and inducted into the International Softball Congress (ISC Hall of Fame in 1980.
