HEINZ MUELLER
Coached over 50 years, 1990 to 2013-Head Coach at Phoenix College, including 8 NJCAA National Championships/12 Regional I Titles, third member in the NJCAA to have 1,000 wins, 8 time NJCAA Coach of the Year, NFCA Speedline Coaching Staff of the Year 2005, 2006, 2007, & 2012. Coached youth & adult club ball from 1972-1990 which produced over 1,000 wins.

Mueller has accomplished an incredible amount in his softball coaching career and looks to further that success this year as the Bears compete in the 2013 NJCAA National Tournament.

Last season (2012) he reached his 1,000th career win and became the third winningest coach in NJCAA Softball History. Now, this season he has built on this compiling 1,073 total wins and another Region 1, Division 2 Championship. Mueller has recorded nine NJCAA Division 2 National Championships, has won nine national coach of the year awards, one conference coach of the year award, and four National Fastpitch Coaching Association Speedline Coaching Staff of the year awards. His achievements speak for themselves, but head coach Heinz Muller, is more than just a winning coach. In fact, he holds his players to a high standard on the field as well as in the classroom. Nearly every year his softball programs are named Academic All-American teams and maintain excellent grade point averages. Heinz Mueller fosters the growth of his student-athletes and pushes them to be better people, enabling them to have successful futures.
When asked how he felt about this prestigious honor he stated, "I am sincerely humbled by this honor. Knowing that it is my home state makes the honor even more special to me. To know whenever our teams, coaches, players, and staff members played in the state of Arizona we represented the state with dignity and honor. I am truly blessed to have had so many great players and staff members by my side that contributed to this honor. I accept this award in their behalf as well."
